Ed Kelley retired at the end of December 2005 as President and CEO of the USAA Real Estate Company, after serving in that capacity for almost seventeen years. Prior to that, for nine years, Kelley was the President of Barshop Enterprises, a San Antonio-based real estate development and investment firm. His professional experience also includes fourteen years with Dallas-based Southwestern Life Insurance Company, where he held various management positions culminating with Senior Vice President of Mortgages and Real Estate Investments.

Kelley has served and continues to serve on a number of corporate and community boards, including past chairmanship of the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, San Antonio Economic Development Corporation, St. Mary's University, Dominion Country Club and the Masters Leadership Program. He currently sits on a number of boards including Bartlett Cocke Construction Company, Royalton Real Estate Company of Dallas, Haven for Hope, San Antonio Area Foundation, San Antonio Medical Foundation, Masters Leadership Program and others. He received his undergraduate degree from St. Mary's University and his MBA from Southern Methodist University, both degrees in Finance. Kelley is a professionally-certified member of the Appraisal Institute (MAI), and a licensed Texas real estate broker.
