Rick Martin
MLP Alumni Association Board Chair
Class XIV (2018)

Rick Martin is a proud graduate of MLP Class XIV and is honored to serve as Chair of the MLP Alumni Association Board.
Rick served 36 years on active duty in the U.S. Air Force, culminating in senior command and staff assignments throughout the global joint force. A command pilot with more than 5,000 flight hours in over a dozen aircraft, he led organizations ranging from 100 to 10,000 personnel worldwide. His career included multiple deployments to the Middle East, operational assignments in Afghanistan and Iraq, and staff tours at the Pentagon, Air Force major commands, and joint combatant commands.
Rick graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. He also holds master’s degrees in international relations and public administration and completed a National Security Fellowship at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.
Following his military retirement, Rick settled in San Antonio, where he leads a consulting LLC and remains active in civic, professional, and faith-based nonprofit organizations. He and his wife, Barb—also a U.S. Air Force Academy graduate and former Air Force pilot—have lived in 17 locations around the world. They are grateful to call San Antonio home and deeply value their family’s extensive connections to “Military City USA.”
Rick and Barb enjoy traveling and spending time with their four children and four grandchildren.
