Jane Phipps

Jane Phipps


MLP Founder and Program Director

 

In April 1999, Jane and her husband, Bob, sold their fresh fruit and vegetable processing company, Fresh from Texas, which they started in 1980. She was responsible for the financial management of the company along with overseeing the marketing and human resource functions.


After four years of retirement, Jane was excited to found the Masters Leadership Program of San Antonio and Bexar County in 2004, modeled after a successful program in Naples, FL. Having served on numerous community boards, Jane is gratified this program, under the United Way umbrella, has become a primary source for knowledgeable, qualified and dedicated non-profit and civic board members.


Her current civic involvement includes a state board appointment to the Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Corporation, where she served as chair, USAA Federal Savings Bank Board of Directors and Accion Texas Board of Directors. Jane has a BS in marketing from the University of Colorado. She and Bob have two grown children.

David Patrick

David Patrick

MLP Director of Educational Curriculum

 

David’s executive career has included senior leadership positions in both not-for-profit association management and as an Air Force Officer. He was the President and Chief Operating Officer for a national association that provided all the membership programs and services to some of the largest not-for-profit participatory sports organizations in the world.

 

Prior to that, he spent 24-years as an Air Force Officer in several key leadership and personnel management positions completing his career as a Colonel. Currently, David is the Director, Educational Curriculum for the Masters Leadership Program responsible for supporting the event planning, operations and execution of class days. Additionally, he is employed in the San Antonio office of Holland and Davis, LLC – a Houston headquartered business consulting firm -- as a senior consultant specializing in project management, strategic/ operational planning, change management, etc., projects.

 

David also helped establish Transition Management Solutions, LLC (TMS) where he is a partner. TMS provides interim executive leadership and consulting services for Texas non-profit organizations that are in a period of transition following the departure of their chief executive.

 

David holds a Masters Degree in Personnel Management and Bachelors in Business Administration. He is a member of both the Texas Society of Association Executives and the San Antonio Society of Association Executives and a graduate of the Masters Leadership Program II. He is on the Advisory Group of the SAMMinistries.

Karen Day

MLP Executive Assistant

 

Karen is a native of Belleville, Illinois, and joins the MLP staff in support of the administrative efforts. Karen graduated from Belleville Area College with an Associates of Applied Science-Secretarial Science achieving Dean’s High Honors, Dean’s Honors status and is listed in Who’s Who of American Junior Colleges. After joining Southwestern Bell in St. Louis, she held numerous secretarial positions in marketing up to and including Executive Assistant-Strategic Marketing (SBC).

Bill Hudson

Bill Hudson

 

MLP Web Master and IT Specialist

 

Bill is a retired Air Force Colonel, a former Chief Information Officer of a San Antonio software company, the founder of a non-profit organization that taught computing to senior citizens, and now, a Web designer and member of the MLPSA team. He designed and maintains our Web site and manages our database. Bill is also a graduate of MLP Class III.
