Community Impact Report

The Masters Leadership Program (MLP) is an opportunity for San Antonio’s best and brightest business executives and other community leaders to stay involved in, and informed about, the issues and challenges facing our city.

Representing the full spectrum of the professions and industries, MLP participants include newly retired managers, directors and chief officers, as well as some who are approaching retirement. Within these individuals is found an invaluable compilation of talent, expertise and proven experience. When these assets of the MLP class members combine with the information, analysis and networking opportunities presented through the MLP curriculum, the results are no less than a win/win scenario for our entire community.

MLP Alumni are Making a Difference

for the San Antonio Community

The graduates of the Masters Leadership Program (MLP) are now or are ready to be prime candidates to serve on boards, advisory committees and task forces of nonprofit, civic and public agencies and organizations across the community. MLP graduates are able to afford these entities not only the wealth of their career knowledge, but an informed, up-to-date perspective on the issues affecting the people and future advancement of San Antonio and Bexar County.

Over the years, the Masters Leadership Program will continue to be a strong investment in human capital that will translate into a pool of graduates available to volunteer their leadership and good counsel as advisors on the boards of our community’s most important and respected agencies and public commissions.

"Our organization is truly a testament to the wealth of  expertise and time commitment brought to us by your class members."

Rebecca Cervantez

"Access to the MLP has provided me a valuable resource in the continuing work of strengthening our board. As a beneficiary of five board members from the first two classes, we have gained not only dedicated members but leaders who understand the community-at-large and have a broad vision for San Antonio. The quality, experience and energy of MLP graduates add a new and exciting dimension to the nonprofit leadership community; we’re proud to be counted as enthusiastic supporters of the program."

Community Education

"Communities In Schools has benefitted greatly from this program. Six of the graduates have joined our board. At a recent retreat, the leadership skills, expertise and enthusiasm of these new members has brought our board to a new level and re-energized everyone. I’m very grateful to the MLP sponsors for having the foresight to recognize the tremendous potential and talent this program can bring to the nonprofit industry."

Nancy Reed
Executive Director, Communities In Schools

"My wife and I recently retired to San Antonio after having careers in other cities. The MLP introduced us to this remarkable community as well as the issues confronting the area. We have already invested our time in organizations and programs that can make a difference."
